Today, In This Town is a quirky, thoughtful look at the first Christmas … if the first Christmas had happened in present-day Massachusetts. Adapted from a medieval English Christmas pageant (The York Mystery Cycle), this family-friendly show follows the medieval tradition of placing the events in the audience’s own context, in order to understand and connect with the story more deeply – and to laugh a little more along the way! If you’ve never imagined a pigeon-surrounded baby Jesus, or what His coming looks like for the overworked, the overlooked, and the skeptics in your life – and for you – then maybe it’s time that Christmas came to your town! Running at about 30 minutes, this show is a great way to relax and celebrate in the all-too-often busy Advent season.
All performances are followed by a talkback in which audience members are invited to stay and discuss the show with the cast.
